The Bobby Crim Papers span 1967-1982. The collection is divided into two series: Legislative Correspondence and Subject Files. Legislative Correspondence, spanning 1973-1982, consists mostly of letters to and from constituents and legislators in Michigan and other states. There is also some correspondence from members of the United States Congress, including Senator Robert Griffin and Representative William D. Ford, both of whom represented Michigan. The correspondence is arranged chronologically by year and then numerically by the number of the bill to which it pertains. Subject Files span 1967-1982 and are arranged alphabetically by folder title, which reflects the topic. Materials include newspaper clippings, press releases, correspondence and reports. Materials come from a number of sources, including members of the legislature, Democratic Party researchers and members of the legislature.

Bobby Crim was born on December 10, 1931. He served in the United States Navy from 1950-54 and earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from the University of Michigan. He taught in the Davison Community Schools in Davison, Michigan, from 1959 to 1960 and then in the Flint Community Schools in Flint, Michigan from 1961 to 1964.
